ABOUT US
Chell Area Family Action Group (CAFAG), a registered charity, is situated in the heart of the community of Fegg Hayes, Chell, Chell Heath and the surrounding areas of the City of Stoke-on-Trent. It was established in 1999 with the aim of strengthening family life in the local area and the wider community through increasing community involvement, developing the local skills base, providing life opportunities, enabling local access to appropriate services as and when needed and enabling all members of the community to have fun and enjoy their lives.
In 2001, CAFAG opened its flagship project, the Whitfield Valley Centre. The Centre and is managed by a Board of Trustees, many of whom have an interest in groups that run from the Centre and/or local residents. The Trustees, staff and volunteers aim to make the CAFAG and the Whitfield Valley Centre a
welcoming place for all the community and which can be accessed by everybody.
CAFAG has over 25 years experience of working with deprived, disadvantaged and isolated local community members. Through its operation of the Whitfield Valley Centre, CAFAG provides activities and services such as a Community Café, Creche, Ofsted registered Nursery, a Youth Project, CAFAG Community Gym, over 55's Lunch Club, a health and wellbeing project, 'real life' work placements, volunteering, training and courses.
