CAFAG (Chell Area Family Action Group) was formed in 1995 with the aim of strengthening family life in the areas of Chell, Fegg Hayes and Chell Heath and the wider community through increasing community involvement, developing the local skills base, providing life opportunities, enabling local access to appropriate services as and when needed and enabling all members of the community to have fun and enjoy their lives.

In 2001 CAFAG opened its flagship project, a centre for the local community - The Whitfield Valley Centre. The Centre has been helping to improve the physical and mental wellbeing of the people of this area of Stoke-on-Trent for 17 years. This is achieved through providing in-house and outreach activities and services to help the local community to overcome the profound health, educational and socio-economic problems affecting the area

Since its establishment CAFAG has grown and expanded the services and activities it offers to the community. Today  we offer regular activities and services such as an extensive Youth Project, two Ofsted registered Nurseries, an in-house Creche which also caters for childen with Special Educational Needs and/or Diabilities,  Health & Wellbeing Project, a Community Gardening Scheme, an Over 55's Luncheon Club, a Community Cafe, a Community Gym operated by Aston Fitness, regular courses, Messy Angels and many more.
